At All Weather Windows, we have always believed in building stronger communities and helping to enrich the lives of others. That means developing partnerships with a number of non-profit and charitable organizations across Canada and giving our employees a chance to give back to their communities and help those in need.

When it comes to charitable work, we follow a four pillar model to guide our efforts. One of these pillars is long-term shelter – helping those who struggle to find suitable permanent shelter access a warm and safe place to call home. In keeping with this pillar, we have developed a long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada and regularly work with the organization to help build affordable homes across the country and overseas. Since we first partnered with Habitat in 2001, our employees have volunteered at an outstanding number of builds, ReStore training projects and relief fundraising events.

One such project was Edmonton Neufeld Landing, which we had the pleasure of helping with last year. The largest Habitat project in Canada to date, Neufeld Landing—located in south Edmonton’s Rutherford community— is a 64-home development built to serve more families than ever before. The new housing development will see an entire community built over the course of three years.

With tremendous corporate support and a grand total of 3,866 volunteers on-site throughout the build, Neufeld Landing is a groundbreaking project dedicated to giving a “hand up” to hardworking families in need.

Habitat for Humanity’s Edmonton Division produced a video during the Neufeld Landing Home Dedication Ceremony in October 2014. All Weather Windows employees were there that day to celebrate alongside 16 families as they received the keys to their new homes.

All Weather Windows volunteers also helped out on-site at the Habitat Edmonton’s ReStore West location by donating a semi-load of windows and helping to answer customer questions about window installation.

One of our largest Habitat for Humanity initiatives is our annual Blitz Build. This year, more than 50 All Weather Windows volunteers in Mississauga and more than 100 volunteers in Edmonton donated their time to build 40 homes, including one duplex. Using our plant facilities in both Mississauga and Edmonton, the two teams also spent the day building windows that would be used for 40 new Habitat homes across Canada.

As a show of appreciation for our employees’ volunteer work, we handed out certificates of appreciation to all employees who donated time towards Habitat. This kind of internal dedication to charity allows our company to provide exceptional support to causes we believe in and showcases our partners’ and employees’ commitment to giving back to their communities.

Habitat has been the right choice for All Weather Windows’ long-term vision for charitable giving. Our partnership has been vital to providing homeownership and a brighter future for families in Canada and around the globe. We’re proud to have had many opportunities to give back to people in need in a significant way and we look forward to contributing to further homebuilding projects as our company and Habitat both continue to grow.
